Photo Booth Fun | Detroit Portrait Photographer

We love portraits!
I’m not talking about the pose-y-pose-y kind that get made just after your wedding ceremony. We do recognize their importance, but we have something much more fun in mind. We’ve been quietly taking our photo booth on the road with us for the last year or so. You and your guests are encouraged to step in front of the camera and have a little fun with us. People love the photo booth so much that we have decided to make it available for non- wedding events, too. If you’d like to have us come out and make fun photos at your next party or event, email the studio for more information. We’ll have a blast!
Here are a few shots from a recent event:

Jill: Before Meets After | Ann Arbor Maternity Photographer

Jill and her husband Corey will always have a special place in our hearts.

When Studio Sinead was new, untested, and absolutely green, they had faith in us — enough to become our very first “official” wedding clients.
Even after all these years I still can’t believe my great good fortune to have had Jill and Corey right out of the gate. They could have had anyone, yet they chose us. And in so doing, they changed my life for the better. The experience is no less humbling when I look back on it today, and I’m sure you’ll understand when I tell you that this is one blog post that I am particularly happy to make. The ability to come full circle with my clients is the very best thing about my job.

Congratulations, you two, and thank you so much for coming back! Garrett and I can’t wait to meet your baby girl.

E Stories: Carrie+Nick | Detroit Wedding Photographer

Carrie and Nick are getting married at the beach next month. Although we can’t be with them on their wedding day, we were thrilled when they asked if we could meet them at some of their favorite spots in Ferndale for an engagement session. Absolutely! (Many thanks to our new friends at the Woodward Avenue Brewers and Dye Salon for their collaboration.) Enjoy the photos!

Sneak Peek: Katie’s Maternity Session | Ann Arbor Maternity Photographer

I don’t do many maternity sessions — former brides and referrals only — so I am always very excited when someone calls. It means that a past client is happy enough to come back for more, or that she has trusted me enough to refer a friend. I love that!
I was doubly excited when Katie called because she is among the rarest of all creatures: a client who has become a good friend. I’ve photographed her on more than one occasion and I absolutely can’t wait to meet her new daughter . A second generation Studio Sinead girl! Who would have imagined? Katie, it was truly an honor. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing you and your beautiful daughter very soon.

Since today is a time for friends and family, we thought you might enjoy a favorite family of ours. We have been photographing Dr. C. and her children for several years now. We always have a wonderful time with them and it’s so cool to see the kids grow up. I love the photos we shot this year. Enjoy! We’re off this weekend to be with friends and family. Have a safe and wonderful celebration.

Design Tuesday: Be Inspired

Cheryl’s wedding details were a true reflection of the bride herself: classic, simple, understated, hip. Together with her sister, Tina, Cheryl created a tasteful and elegant decor for her wedding reception Saturday night at D’Amato’s Restaurant in Royal Oak.

Working with a classic color scheme of Tiffany blue, cream, white, and chocolate brown, she was able to perfectly merge her vision with D’Amato’s casually elegant ambiance. Of particular interest: small tins of M&Ms, ordered in custom colors, which took the place of the traditional (and sometimes tired) escort cards. These were placed at each place setting and guests were greeted and escorted to their seats by the maid of honor. I thought this was a wonderfully personal touch.

The small cream hydrangea centerpieces were beautiful as well. They contributed to an elegant tablescape, while still allowing the guests to see each other during dinner. I would love it if this became a trend!

Please enjoy the inspiration board from Cheryl and Vince’s wedding. I hope to make Design Tuesday a regular Loose Talk feature.
